Terms of Service.
The rules for using englisher, buying a local licence and the cloud subscription. Written so that they can be read in full.
Version of 14 October 2026
This is a translation of the Polish document. Only the Polish version is binding. The translation is provided for convenience and may contain errors.
This document requires a legal review before wider sales. It describes how the service actually works and the usual obligations of a seller towards a consumer, but it is not legal advice. Places marked TODO(wlasciciel) are decisions that cannot be read from the code.
1. Who provides the service
The service provider and seller is Michał Kluska, ul. Widokowa 15, 32-085 Modlnica, Poland, NIP (tax ID) 9492114948. Contact for all matters described in these terms: prywatnosc@englisher.app.
Legal form of the business to be confirmed before publication: TODO(wlasciciel). Regardless of it, we apply the rules described below towards consumers.
2. What englisher is
englisher is a Windows application that, after you select text and press a keyboard shortcut, shows grammar corrections and style suggestions next to the cursor and, on click, replaces the text in place. In the Polish version of the application, a separate shortcut translates between Polish and English.
The application has two language versions: Polish and English. The English version is for correcting texts in English and does not include translation. You choose the version in the application settings as the interface language; it determines the currency of the price (point 5).
The program works in one of the modes you choose:
- basic correction (Harper) — also works without an account and without the internet, and is free of charge;
- advanced correction on your computer — your computer prepares the suggestions; requires local access (separate or included in the cloud plan) and downloading the necessary files from within the application;
- correction in the cloud — our server prepares the suggestions; requires an active subscription.
3. Technical requirements
- 64-bit Windows 10 or Windows 11;
- an internet connection — for signing in, payments and the cloud mode;
- an email address at which you will receive the sign-in code.
The application uses the WebView2 component, which is already present in Windows 11 and may need to be installed on Windows 10.
Local mode — hardware requirements
The application contains the necessary engine, but the package for advanced correction has to be downloaded. The application checks the hardware and suggests an option. The rounded recommendations below help you assess your computer before buying; they do not guarantee a particular speed.
| Option | Download | Free disk space | RAM | Graphics card memory (VRAM), if you use it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Light | 1.7 GB | 4 GB | 8 GB | 4 GB |
| Standard | 2.7 GB | 5 GB | 8 GB | 6 GB |
| Full | 5.5 GB | 8 GB | 12 GB or more | 8 GB |
A graphics card is not required — without a suitable card, the processor prepares the correction. This may take longer. The VRAM column describes the recommended dedicated memory of the card; the number of gigabytes alone does not ensure that every card is compatible. RAM is the memory of the whole computer. Also leave room for the application itself and other system files.
For advanced correction on your computer we recommend at least 8 GB of RAM. With less memory, the application may not offer an option to download. You can then choose englisher Cloud — and basic offline correction works regardless, free of charge.
4. Account
You create an account by entering your email address and typing in the one-time code we send to it. You do not set a password. The code is valid for 10 minutes and works once, the session expires 90 days after signing in, and the entitlement stored in the application is renewed every 30 days.
You are responsible for access to your mailbox — whoever has access to it can sign in to your account. If you suspect that someone else is using it, write to prywatnosc@englisher.app.
An account is not required to use offline grammar.
5. What you can buy
You buy both plans in Polish złoty in the Polish version of the application and on the website, and in US dollars (USD) in the English version. The scope of a plan is the same in both currencies, except for translation, which the English version does not include.
Local subscription — PLN 15 or $5 per month
The subscription gives access to advanced correction, change of tone and — in the Polish version — translation on your computer. The contract is billed monthly and renews automatically until you cancel. While the subscription is active, you receive regular application updates and support with installation, configuration and operating problems, via the report form. Access is non-exclusive and does not transfer copyright or the right to resell or pass the program on.
After downloading the necessary files and signing in, you choose local mode. The text is processed on your computer. Refreshing access requires a periodic internet connection; offline work is available within the validity of the entitlement.
Cloud and local mode — PLN 35 or $12 per month
The cloud plan includes all features of the local plan, regular updates and support, and additionally correction in the cloud. You do not need to buy a separate local subscription. You can use the cloud for convenience or choose local mode when the text should stay on your computer.
A contract for an indefinite period, billed monthly, renewing automatically until it is terminated. The first 14 days are free; if you cancel before they end, we do not charge anything.
The cloud plan includes a monthly usage limit. You can check the granted limit and your current usage in the account panel, also before enabling the plan. Once the limit is used up, the cloud mode stops responding until the end of the calendar month, while offline grammar and local mode keep working. You can see your current usage in the account panel.
The local access included in the cloud plan lasts as long as that plan. After it ends, you can use Harper’s basic correction or enable the local subscription. Previously purchased perpetual local licences keep their entitlements and are not converted into a subscription.
6. Prices and payments
The prices shown on the website and in the application are final prices — the amount you pay: in Polish złoty in the Polish version, in US dollars in the English version. You see the payment currency on the Stripe payment page before you buy. Any currency conversion and its cost on the side of your bank or card issuer do not depend on us. Payments are handled by Stripe; we have no access to your card number. You will find the invoice or payment confirmation and your payment history in the Stripe panel available from your account.
Taxation of sales and the content of the sales document: TODO(wlasciciel) — to be confirmed together with point 1.
We will notify you of a change in the subscription price by email at least 14 days in advance. The new price applies from the next billing period, and until then you can terminate the contract at no cost.
7. Withdrawal from the contract
As a consumer, you have 14 days to withdraw from a contract concluded at a distance, without giving a reason. A message to prywatnosc@englisher.app is enough — we do not require a form or a justification.
In practice it works like this. The cloud subscription has a 14 days free trial, exactly as long as the withdrawal period — cancelling during that time costs nothing, because we have not charged anything yet. For the local subscription, we refund the first payment on request made within 14 days of purchase, even if the program has already been used. We do not rely here on exceptions that would allow us to refuse.
We make the refund using the same payment method, within 14 days of receiving the request. Together with the refund, the corresponding entitlement in the application is withdrawn.
8. Cancellation and termination of the contract
You cancel the subscription yourself, in the Stripe panel available from your account — without writing to us and without a notice period. Access works until the end of the paid period and then does not renew.
When the local subscription ends, access to its advanced features expires. When the cloud plan ends, both the cloud and the local access included in it expire. Separate active entitlements and perpetual licences purchased earlier remain valid. Harper’s basic correction remains free.
We may suspend or terminate the contract if you use the service in a way described in point 9 as not allowed, or if payment does not go through despite retries. We will notify you by email and give the reason, unless the law provides otherwise.
Account deletion is currently requested by email to prywatnosc@englisher.app; we carry it out within 30 days. Data retention rules are described in the privacy policy.
9. What is not allowed
- reselling, lending or sharing access to the account or licence with other people;
- circumventing usage limits or licensing mechanisms, or automating use of the cloud beyond normal use by a person;
- using the service for unlawful content or to generate material that infringes the rights of others;
- decompiling and modifying the application beyond the extent permitted by mandatory provisions of law.
10. What the service does not guarantee
englisher uses language models. A model can be wrong: it may suggest a correction that changes the meaning, or wording that is inappropriate in your context. You accept every suggestion consciously — the program never replaces text on its own. We do not guarantee the linguistic correctness of the result and do not recommend using the program, without a human check, where an error in the content has legal or safety consequences.
Report an inappropriate result via the page for reporting an inappropriate AI suggestion.
The cloud mode depends on the provider of the model infrastructure. Technical interruptions and temporarily slower responses are possible. We will notify you by email of planned interruptions longer than a few hours.
11. Complaints
You submit a complaint by email to prywatnosc@englisher.app. Write what does not work and since when — that is enough. We reply within 14 days of receiving the complaint.
If the digital service does not conform to the contract, you have the right to demand that it be brought into conformity and, if that is impossible or ineffective, a price reduction or withdrawal from the contract, under the rules of the Polish Consumer Rights Act.
12. Disputes
First write to us — most matters can be resolved by email. If that is not enough, as a consumer you can use out-of-court dispute resolution, including mediation at the Provincial Inspectorate of Trade Inspection and the help of a district or municipal consumer ombudsman. Information about these routes is provided by the Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK).
Using them is voluntary for both parties and does not close the route to court.
13. Changes to the terms
We will notify you of a change to the terms by email or in the application at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you do not agree to the change, you can terminate the contract before that date at no cost. Contracts already performed are governed by the terms as worded on the day they were concluded.
14. Final provisions
Matters not regulated here are governed by Polish law. These terms do not limit the rights a consumer has under mandatory provisions of law — if any provision turns out to conflict with them, the statutory provision applies and the rest of the terms remain in force.
The application contains third-party components under their own licences; a list of them is included with the program. The rights to englisher itself remain with the service provider.
These terms take effect on 14 October 2026.
